SERVICES OF EXCELLENCE

The VitaSalus® Wellness Center as well all clinical services and health education programmes are owned and operated by the Portuguese Association of Preventive Medicine (APMP), a non-profit organization established in 2003 by a group of professionals. APMP aims at improving the health of individuals and communities through the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits.
 
Health is a state of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness. We recognize that health does not depend only on genetics or physical constitution. Factors such as lifestyle habits (nutrition, physical activity, rest, hygiene, etc.), socio-economic conditions and accessibility to health services, contribute to the health of individuals and communities.

The Portuguese Association of Preventive Medicine also participates in humanitarian projects providing medical services and health education in disadvantaged communities such as refugee groups, predominantly outside of Portugal.
 
The Portuguese Association of Preventive Medicine meets its objectives through innovative projects, alone or in partnership with local and national government authorities as well  as public and private institutions.

We realize that our patients need a place where they can put into practice the new health principles taught during the medical and psychology consultations. This is why we created the first Wellness Center of this kind in Portugal.
 
As the old property located in the Vila do Espinhal, Penela undergoes reconstruction work, we often think about our patients. They need help to regain their health and rebuild their lives.

Since 2008, hundreds of volunteers from Portugal and abroad have helped to build the VitaSalus® Wellness Center. Currently, we can accommodate 16 people at our unique facility located in the beautiful hills of Penela.
 
We are expanding our center to serve you better. Several buildings will be renovated to increase our accommodation capacity and improve our clinical services.
